Hello! My name is Bridget Horgan. I am so excited to be teaching at Blessed Trinity! This is my second year at Blessed Trinity, and I have over 16 years of teaching experience as a special education teacher in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and California.
Let me tell you a bit about myself. I attended Saint Charles Borromeo grade school and Holy Cross High School (now Holy Cross Academy) in New Jersey. I attended the College of Saint Elizabeth in Morristown, NJ. At the time it was an all-women's college, but it is now co-educational. I graduated in 2004 with honors with a Bachelor of Arts in Education and Psychology, and I also earned my certificate to be a Special Education teacher at the same time. It was a lot of hard work, but I have wanted to be a teacher since I was in second grade!
In my free time I love to bake everything from cookies to cakes to my famous Horgan Brownies, a recipe I came up with when I was a young girl! Dark chocolate is my favorite treat, and I usually have a stash of it somewhere in my desk--just in case of a chocolate emergency! I love going to the beach, especially in the winter months when I can take my 13 year old dog Murphy there. He is very fuzzy, so I always have a lint roller in my classroom, just in case I get "Murphed" before I leave for school in the morning.
I love animals and I volunteer at an animal sanctuary called the Funny Farm Animal Rescue and Sanctuary. I love to sing and I will sometimes burst into song in the middle of class. I have been in my church choir for 35 years, and I'm learning how to play guitar.
When I want to relax, I like to read a good book. I like all different genres of books, but science fiction and fantasy like The Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, Fahrenheit 451, and the entire Harry Potter series are some of my favorites. I absolutely love my 3 handsome nephews and my gorgeous niece. You can usually find a cute picture of them on my desk.
Thanks for stopping by to find out more about me!
