“If There Is No Struggle, there is no Progress.”
Fredrick Douglass
Hello, my name is Christopher Brooks, and I am a Philadelphian Native. I completed my undergraduate degree in 2021 with a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education Administration at Manor College. I’m a graduate student at Eastern University majoring in Multicultural education with an anticipated graduation date of December 2022. I have many experiences inside and outside of education, from being a Therapeutic support specialist—Director of after-school programs and summer camps. I also have a background in working with individuals with intellectual disabilities with organizations such as Elwyn, Devereux, Merekey, and Bancroft, serving in different roles of Direct support to supervisors and managers. My favorite past times are traveling, listening to audible books, and exploring historical information and sights. I have two dogs whom I refer to as “The Boys,” which are my Shih Tzu (Bentley) and Shorkie (Carter). I anticipate challenging my students in their academics and expanding their vocabulary by allowing them to explore new words and decipher philosophical quotes. I expect to enhance my students learning through their own experiences, collaboration with peers, and alternative learning resources. It’s my pleasure to work with each family and student to enhance their academic success.
