Blessed Trinity Catholic School
This letter was sent to all students in August 2021
Dear Parents,
We would like to take this opportunity to welcome you and your child to our preschool. We would like to express our gratitude for choosing our program for your child. We take this responsibility seriously, and we will strive to make this a very rewarding and happy year for all involved.
We would like to share a bit of information with you. Please keep this information for future reference.
We would like to invite you to our “Opening Meeting” on Wednesday, August 25, 2021, at 6:OO PM. You will be greeted at the main entrance of the school on Hawthorne Street, and directed to go to the proper meeting room. This gathering is for adults only. You may bring your child’s supplies that night. You will receive important information, meet the staff, become familiar with the facilities, and discuss any concerns you may have. We are looking forward to meeting you.
Our first class will begin on Wednesday, September 8, 2021. Children will gather in front of the main doors on Hawthorne Street at 7:40 AM. Students will leave their parents at the door, and be brought back to the same doors at 12:40 PM. All children will report on the first day! For the remainder of the week, we will begin at 7:40 AM and end at 12:40 PM.
Blessed Trinity Catholic School offers before and after-school programs. If anyone is interested in either CARES program, please contact the school office for fees and registration information. Both programs will be available on the first full day of school which is Monday, September 13, 2021. Full-day school hours are 7:40 AM to 2:30 PM.
The children will come to school each day with the official school gym suit, which is their uniform. The uniform consists of the official Blessed Trinity Catholic School t-shirt, gym shorts, sweatpants, and sweatshirt. From November 1st until April 1st the children must wear the t-shirt under the sweatshirt along with the sweatpants. Purchasing information will be included in this letter. The children will wear plain white socks every day. The sneakers can be any normal child’s sneaker with velcro. However, no high tops, musical or light-up sneakers are permitted. Please keep this in mind when purchasing the sneakers.
The children will be resting in the afternoon. In order for the children to be comfortable, we ask that you purchase a nap mat. Enclosed with this letter is a sample of the exact type of mat we are requesting. The mat must meet the specifications to fit in our storage area and to meet safety requirements. ANY OTHER TYPE OF MAT OR SLEEPING BAG WILL BE SENT HOME. If you are unsure, please keep your receipt.
We are looking forward to meeting you. We hope you enjoy the remainder of the summer. We pray that God will keep you and your family safe and happy.
Sincerely,
Mrs. O’Brien
The pictures below show the exact type of nap mat that the children need for class. They are easily handled by the children, fit the space allotted in each cubby, and are easily washed. The mats are warm enough for the winter months and are comfortable enough in the warmer weather. We have found that they hold up very well. Do not get mats that have Velcro detachable pillows, or the more expensive mats that have extra filling. Please keep the sales receipt when you buy them to make sure they are the correct type. If the mats are not the correct type, they will be sent home. The mats are available at many local stores, or online (just search Google for nap mats). They are usually priced between $18.00 and $25.00. If the price is higher, it is probably not the correct type of mat.
The dimensions must be: Built-In Pillow 21” W x 46” L
Blessed Trinity Gym Uniforms: shorts, t-shirt, sweatpants, and sweatshirts with emblems can be purchased at: Flynn & O’Hara Uniforms or Di Giulio’s.
Children’s backpacks should be large enough to fit a folder, copybook, and library book easily. They should not have wheels.
Please put names on the items sent in. Products do not need to be name brands. Dollar Store items are fine. Additional items needed for the classroom per student:
For art class the children will need:
$11.00 in an envelope with the child’s name. (Exact amount) The money will be used for a trifold board and oil pastels for each child.
